At this time, the NYSDOH is NOT issuing exceptions for immunizations because of COVID-19.
The Department's stance continues to be that students missing vaccine doses for any reason
must comply with Public Health Law Section 2164 requirements.
Children entering or attending school in New York State, including summer school
and distance learning, must comply with said requirements.
Throughout the fall semester, dozens of college representatives come to AHS to meet with students. Interested students must get a pass from Mrs. Brechue in the Counseling Department beforehand, then give the pass to their teacher for permission to meet with the college representative. The teacher must sign the pass; students may then return to the Counseling Office at the designated visit time.
Auburn High School hosts the Cayuga Area College Night every year in late October. Over 75 representatives from a wide variety of two and four-year colleges and universities attend this event annually. We also provide workshops on financial aid, accessing disability services at the college level, and NCAA athletic eligibility. This college fair is a wonderful opportunity for students and families from all over Cayuga County to research colleges and gather excellent information. Hope to see you there!
Our next College Night is scheduled for:
Thursday, October 24, 2019
Financial Aid Info - 5:30 p.m.
College Fair - 6:00-7:30 p.m.
College Campus Visits
We encourage students and families to schedule visits to college campuses to learn more about the programs and student culture your college of interest has to offer. Many colleges have Open House events, primarily in October and November for seniors and again in the spring for juniors.
