AECSD Parent Survey for Instructional Preference - complete by August 10
Dear Parents and Guardians,As we continue to formulate our plan for reopening, we will be using guidance set forth by Governor Cuomo, the New York State Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regarding social distancing and daily health checks. We know that school will look different and many families are apprehensive about sending their children back to school during this pandemic. Knowing this, we will be offering options for instruction for all students.
Please complete an instructional preference survey for each student that will attend during the 2020-2021 school year. We will use this information as we attempt to create a plan to run parallel programs in order to meet the needs of every student.
Option 1: Distance Learning (Depending on feasibility and multiple factors)
Selecting this option means your child will learn at home. Remote instruction will be provided online by our teachers. Teachers will use the Google Classroom platform to provide distance learning for students.
Option 2: Hybrid Instruction
Selecting this option means your child will attend school in person two days per week on an alternating schedule and will learn from home during the remainder of the week. Students would be assigned specific days to attend each week. The District will make every effort to schedule students from the same family on the same days.
We continue to monitor all of the information and guidelines being provided to us from the Governor, the New York State Department of Health, and the CDC. We will provide updates throughout the summer as new information becomes available or should plans change.
