I was born and raised in Auburn,NY. I attended Genesee Elementary,West Middle School,Auburn High School(class of 83),and Cayuga Community College. I earned a degree in Political Science from SUNY Empire State College in 1989. I also attended Onondaga-Cortland-Madison Boces in Liverpool,NY.
   I previously worked at Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center,as a youth counselor at the Cayuga County Action Program,as Program Assistant with the CNY Alzheimers Association,BJ's Wholesale Club, as Legislative Assistant to NYS Assemblyman Michael F. Nozzolio,Teacher Aide at Skaneateles Middle School,Saturday Detention Supervisor at Auburn High School,as a tutor with the Smarties Tutoring Program,and at the Oasis Summer School Program in Auburn.
   I have remained involved with the Auburn Enlarged City School District since my graduation from high school. I served as volunteer Assistant Instructor with the Auburn High Marching Band from 1983-1990. In 1985 I became the youngest person to be elected to the Auburn Board of Education at the age of 19. I served 2 terms on the board,including two terms as board vice president. I began working for the district in 1992 as a Hall Monitor at Auburn High School. I have been teaching AIS math and reading at the elementary level since 2001. I have worked at Casey Park,Herman Ave,Owasco,Seward,and  Genesee Elementary schools.
   I am also a professional musician. I have been playing the trumpet since I began taking lessons from the Auburn School District in the Fourth Grade. I have performed with several groups throughout the CNY region including: Auburn Civic Band,Private Eye,The Bizznezz,Soul Traders,Clyde Barrow band,Auburn Purple Lancers,The Destination,Auburn School District Faculty band,Celebration band,Letizia and the Z Band,Auburn Alliance Church Orchestra,Lakes Church Worship Band,Sunday Night Road Band,Believers Brass Quintet,Bob Piorun's Music Workshop,Entourage,Joe Whiting's Sweet Soul Review,Tuff Luck,and the Ron Spencer Band.
    I am married to the former Darlene Duciaume.We have a daughter,Dariel,who graduated from SUNY Oswego with a degree in Human Development and Health Science.
